Our Focus

UTILIZING MASS SPECTROMETRY BASED PROTEOMICS APPROACHES TO INVESTIGATE SYNAPTIC PROTEIN NETWORKS IN PSYCHIATRIC DISEASES

1. Development of novel proteomic approaches for human postmortem brain tissue.

The human brain is the most complex and highly organized proteome on the planet. We are constantly searching for new ways to untangle this complexity with greater spatial resolution.

2. â€‹Investigating synaptic protein networks in Schizophrenia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other neuropsychiatric diseases.

Once validated, we utilize these proteomic approaches to identify alterations to synaptic protein network features linked to synaptic architectural changes in neuropsychiatric disease.

3. Modelling synaptic protein network alterations.

Once identified, we model the effects of protein alterations on the broader synaptic protein network, synaptic structure, and animal behavior.
